Characteristics

The Sesarmid crab has brown pereopods and a square brown carapace that is approximately 2 cm wide. The chelae are symmetrical and red on the palm. These crabs prefer grass marshes in tidal sandy shores in estuaries, and some individuals dig burrows on the beach. The Sesarmid crab is omnivorous and feeds on rotting leaves and carcasses.

Distribution

The two-tooth sesarmid crab can be seen on the bottom of grasses at Gaomei Wetlands.
